Fire guts Obosi mater foam industry in Onitsha

An early morning blaze on Saturday gutted the Mater Foam Industry, Obosi, near St. Albert Catholic Church, Obosi, Anambra.
The incident is contained in a statement signed by the fire chief of Anambra Fire Service, Martin Agbili, in Onitsha.
“We immediately deployed our three fire trucks and our ever-ready and fearless firefighters to the fire scene.
“We went into action, controlled and fought the fire to a standstill,” he said.
The fire chief said the cause of the fire is not yet known, saying that a lot of things were saved as they prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
He confirmed that no life was lost during the fire incident, as they had a successful firefighting operation.
Mr Agbili reiterated the need for residents to note that “we are at the peak of the harmattan season and should avoid anything which can cause a fire outbreak at this period.”
He urged people to switch off all electrical and electronic appliances when not in use.
