Remembrance Day: Gov. Abdulrazaq extols Nigerian Armed Forces

Governor AbdulrahmanAbdulrazaq of Kwara on Sunday extolled the commitment and loyalty of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the service of the country.
At the interdenominational thanksgiving service to commemorate the Armed Forces Remembrance Day at Mount Olive Anglican Church, Ilorin, the governor asserted that the courageous Nigerians had obeyed biblical injunctions on service.
This is contained in a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday by the media aide to the deputy governor, Modupe Joel.
Represented by his deputy, Kayode Alabi, he appreciated the effort and sacrifice of the Nigerian Armed Forces in maintaining peace, security and tranquillity in the state and beyond.
These heroes, he said, “served their country and offered their lives as a ransom for the preservation of the nation”.
He, therefore, called on the people to support and cooperate with members of the armed forces to combat security challenges that undermine our nation’s stability.
In his sermon, the former state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Timothy Opoola, urged people not to be afraid to make any sacrifice.
In his remarks, the CAN chairman, Kwara Chapter, Sunday Adewole, called on the government at all levels to support the forces.
