Prince Philip responding well in UK hospital: Prince William

Buckingham Palace has confirmed the illness is not connected to the coronavirus.

Britain’s Prince William has said his grandfather, Prince Philip, is ok as he remains under observation in a London hospital.

Philip, who is married to Queen Elizabeth II, was hospitalised on Feb. 16, after feeling unwell with an unspecified illness.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed the illness is not connected to the coronavirus.

He and the queen both received their first vaccine dose against the virus on January 9.

During a visit to a coronavirus vaccination centre on Monday, Prince William gave reporters an update on his grandfather’s condition, saying, “Yes, he’s OK, they’re keeping an eye on him,’’ according to the Press Association.

Doctors have decided to keep Philip at the private King Edward VII’s hospital in central London for observation and rest with a view to discharging him this week, reports on Friday stated.

Pa. Philip was visited by his son, and Mr. William’s father, Prince Charles on Saturday, an unusual occurrence.

The visit was understood to be short, with Prince Charles returning to his Gloucestershire home afterward, British broadcaster Sky News reported.
