Osimhen nets brace as Napoli thrash Juventus 5-1 to stay 10 points clear

Victor Osimhen scored a brace and assisted one as Napoli ruthlessly demolished Juventus 5-1 on Friday night to extend their lead on the Italian Serie A table to 10 points.
Prior to tonight’s game, Juventus was on an eight-game winning streak across all competitions and had only conceded seven goals in the league, with the last being in October 2022, but were outrightly dismantled by Napoli.
The Super Eagles forward put Napoli upfront in the 14th minute with a header from a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia rebounded overhead kick before assisting Kvaratskhelia as the Georgian doubled the lead in the 39th minute.
Argentina’s World Cup winner, Ángel Di María halved the deficit for Juventus in the closing minutes of the first half.
Napoli weren’t done with business yet as Amir Rrahmani extended the Gli Azzurri’s lead to two-goal margin again inside the opening minutes of the second half.
In the 65th minute, Osimhen netted his second goal of the night when he met Kvaratskhelia’s well-placed cross with a powerful header to record Napoli’s fourth goal of the encounter.
Eljif Elmas sealed the victory for Napoli with his deflected goal in the last minutes of the game to power Luciano Spalletti to a scintillating victory.
Napoli are now sitting comfortably atop of the league table, with 10 points ahead of their opponent tonight’s opponent.
Osimhen’s impressive goal-scoring form has now seen him take his season’s league scoring tally to 12 goals in 14 matches as he continues to lead others in the topscorers’ chart.
