Police claim arrest of notorious Katsina bandit

According to the police, the bandit confessed to have participated in several attacks.

The police command in Katsina says it arrested a notorious bandit, Adamu Abdulrahman, 30, of Cidawaki village in Safana council area.

The command’s spokesman, Gambo Isah, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the suspect was arrested based on credible intelligence.

Mr Isah said Mr Abdulrahman was a member of a notorious syndicate of terrorists under the leadership of Lawal Dantarugu, hibernating in the forest.

Mr Isah explained that Mr Abdulrahman confessed to have participated in several attacks on communities in Safana and Dutsinma local government areas, kidnapped people and rustled animals.

The police spokesman added that the suspect also mentioned names of eight of accomplices.
