NDLEA arraigns man over alleged drug trafficking in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday charged 33-year-old Victor Stephen to a Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged drug trafficking.
Mr Stephen is charged with five counts bordering on illegal deal in Cannabis sativa, Metaphetamine, Codeine, and Rophynol.
In the charge signed by NDLEA prosecutor Lambert Nor, the defendant was alleged to have committed the offence on December 20, 2022, at the Abule Egba area of Lagos.
Mr Nor said that the defendant unlawfully dealt in 8kg and 31.1g of cannabis sativa.
He alleged that the defendant also illegally dealt in 2.5 litres of codeine, 0.7g of Metaphetamine, as well as 65.7g of rophynol.
The prosecutor said that all drugs were listed in the NDLEA schedule as banned narcotics.
The offence contravenes the provisions of section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30 Law of the Federation 2004.
However, no date has been fixed for further hearing on the matter.
