Gunmen behead Imo LG chairman after collecting N6 million ransom

Chris Ohizu, the abducted sole administrator of Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo, has been killed.
Mr Ohizu was “beheaded” on Sunday after his abductors had allegedly been paid N6 million for his release.
Video footage of his severe body went viral on Monday.
In the video footage, Mr Ohizu’s killers also threatened to attack other Imo residents.
The suspected gunmen threatened to attack Governor Hope Uzodimma and other residents of the state.
Recall that Mr Ohizu was abducted last week Friday with two other residents.
He was shot before his abductors also set ablaze his vehicles and residence at Imoko community in the Arondizuogu area of the local council area.
Police spokesman in Imo, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.
Mr Okoye added that the police would soon give future details about the incident in a full statement.
This incident is coming barely a few days ago when soon to be married couple were murdered in Arondizogu, Ideato North LGA.
Imo has witnessed a spate of violent attacks perpetrated by suspected gunmen in the past few months.
