Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) says the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, will win Saturday’s poll on the first ballot instead of Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Rabiu Kwankwaso (NNPP) and Peter Obi (Labour Party).

This is contained in a statement on Monday in Abuja by Danladi Bako, chairman of the publicity committee of the Sokoto APC gubernatorial campaign council.

”The leader of APC and former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Wammako, has reaffirmed that Tinubu will not only win the presidential ticket in the state but will be on the first ballot in the February 25 presidential race,” said the statement.

Mr Wamakko, speaking to journalists on Sunday in Sokoto, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for endorsing Mr Tinubu for president “even while out of the country in Addis Ababa.”

According to the statement, Mr Wamakko reiterated that Mr Buhari had shown astute leadership qualities and boosted the ego of all APC members across the country.

”Senator Wamakko, who is also the APC Senatorial candidate for Sokoto North, assured Nigerians that he will not only win his seat but will also ensure that the party wins all three senatorial seats in Sokoto as well as the majority of the House of Representatives seats,” added the statement.

Mr Wamakko reaffirmed that APC would win the March 11 gubernatorial election in Sokoto.
