Diaspora group organises virtual town hall for Enugu guber candidates

A coalition of non-governmental organisations in the diaspora has concluded plans to organise a virtual town hall for governorship candidates in Enugu ahead of the forthcoming March 18 elections.
The coalition is comprised of Worship Media TV Canada, and the Leadership and Entreprenureship Advocacy (LEAD) Network Africa.
Addressing journalists on Saturday in Enugu, the Convener, Chidi Nwanyanwu, said the town hall was designed to ensure that the people get the chance to interrogate the competence of the leading governorship candidates.
Mr Nwanyanwu said that the town hall would hold on Monday, March 13, and would commence at 4:00 p.m. local time.
“The town-hall will expose the competences of the governorship candidates with a view to ensuring that the right man is elected for the top job in the state.
“It would showcase a true leader, a chief servant and an administrator that will work for the benefit of Enugu State people.
“The four leading governorship candidates in Enugu State include the APC Governorship Candidate, Uche Nnaji, APGA Governorship Candidate, Frank Nweke, Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, and Peter Mbah of the PDP, have all been duly informed about the virtual town-hall,” Mr Nwanyanwu said.
He said that the choice of Monday, March 13, was strategically chosen and “it is hoped that all candidates will ensure they accommodate this crucial interview in their schedule.”
Also speaking, Executive Director of LEAD Network Africa, Chukwuma Okenwa, noted that issues around economy, security, infrastructure, job creation, education and governance shall be the focal points of the interaction at the town hall.
Mr Okenwa, who is also a co-convener, commended the media partners, which include Sahara Reporters, Iroko TV, Worship Media TV Canada (WM TV Canada), Njenje media TV and BVI media.
He noted that the event would be streamed live from on all the media partner platforms as well.
