The paramount ruler of Emuoha Kingdom, Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse has been appointed Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.

Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, said the Governor Seyi Makinde led state cabinet took the decision during the State Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday.

Mr Olatunbosun made the appointment public via a statement on Wednesday.

He said that LAUTECH would benefit from the rich experience of the first class traditional ruler as an administrator and community leader.

Mr Awuse, a former politician, serially sought to become Rivers governor in the 2000s but was not successful.

Mr Olatubosun said that the appointment of the revered traditional ruler takes immediate effect.
