At least 84,000 candidates sat the rescheduled mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 387 Computer Based Test (CBT) nationwide.

While monitoring the examination in Abuja on Tuesday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, expressed delight over the hitch-free exercise.

The mock examination tests JAMB’s preparedness and that of its partners for UTME.

It also allows prospective candidates to have hands-on experience in the CBT environment.

Mr Oloyede commended the candidates for understanding the board’s decision to reschedule the examination for April 18.

He said the earlier glitches observed in the mock UTME in some centres prompted it to be rescheduled, resulting from deployments of innovations.

The registrar said that the rescheduled examination took place in 387 CBT centres across the country, with 16 of the centres having two sessions, adding that the results would be out before the end of the day.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Okoro, said real-time information from all CBT centres showed that the examination was conducted smoothly.
