The Yobe command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 762 personnel to provide security and ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

On Wednesday, a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Bala Garba, said the NSCDC commandant, Sa’idu Aliyu, promised to beef up security at all Eid grounds in the state’s 17 local government areas.

Mr Aliyu said officers and men would be deployed to prayer grounds and recreation venues before Sallah day and throughout the period to prevent unwholesome activity.

The commandant urged the public to give prompt and credible information about suspicious persons or movements to the security agencies.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to collaborate with other sister security agencies and wished Muslims a peaceful Sallah celebration.
