Aviation Workers: FG promises to implement conditions of service

Aviation minister Hadi Sirika has promised aviation workers to implement conditions of service of the agencies under the ministry’s supervision.
Mr Sirika, in a statement by James Odaudu, his special assistant, assured of payment of the minimum wage as agreed with the labour unions.
According to the minister, the achievements recorded in the nation’s aviation sector will not have been possible without the commitment and personal sacrifices of employees in the different segments of the industry.
He particularly ascribed the near-total achievement of the aviation roadmap to the understanding and cooperation of the workers, expressing optimism that the remaining parts would be achieved soon before the handover to the incoming administration.
Mr Sirika restated the current administration’s commitment to the continued improvement of the welfare of aviation workers through regular training, enhanced pay packages, provision of working tools and conducive work environments.
The minister congratulated Nigerian workers as they celebrated Workers’ Day, particularly aviation workers, on their daily contributions to the running and development of the industry.
Mr Sirika, however, expressed concern over the frequency of workers’ strikes in the industry, which disrupted operations at the nation’s airports, sending wrong signals to the outside world about the safety of Nigeria’s airspace.
