Ukraine tried to assassinate Putin in drone attack: Russia

An overnight assassination attempt, via drone attacks, was launched in the Kremlin against President Vladimir Putin, claims Russian officials.
Russian authorities alleged that Ukrainian forces launched two drone attacks to eliminate Mr Putin and said special security services were able to disable the drones.
Officials from Kyiv denied the accusation of assassination attempt on the Russian leader.
Russian described the drone incident as a terrorist attack aimed at eliminating Mr Putin, suggesting that the Kremlin could retaliate.
Mr Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov the Russian president was not around during the alleged assassination attempt.
Meanwhile, the U.S. government said the report from Russia regarding the drone attack could not be relied on.
Ukraine is wary about Russia’s claim, noting that it could be a prelude to Kremlin large-scale offensive on Ukraine.
Ukraine’s presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak pointed out that Russia was up to the “preparation of a large-scale terrorist provocation.”
Meanwhile, President Volodymr Zelensky arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday and while addressing the International Criminal Court in The Hague on Thursday demanded a special tribunal to bring Mr Putin and Russia to book for atrocities committed against Ukraine.
