Police officer who brutalised Punch reporter arrested

Kayode Jayeola was covering today’s protests in Lagos when he was brutalised by Adadu Innocent, a police inspector.

Adadu Innocent, a police inspector, has been identified as the officer responsible for the violence that was unleashed against a Punch reporter today, officials said. 

Kayode Jayeola was covering today’s protests in Lagos when he was brutalised by Mr. Innocent, an inspector..

Lagos police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu ordered the immediate detention of the officer and said an orderly room trial would be conducted against him. 

A picture that circulated following the attack showed a bruised Mr. Jayeola drained in blood. He was subsequently moved to the hospital. The attack has been widely condemned.
