Governor orders ex-political appointees to hand over Enugu assets

The Enugu government has ordered all former political appointees and officeholders to hand over state assets.
This is contained in a statement by the new secretary to the state government, Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday in Enugu.
Ex-secretary to the state government, Simeon Otuanya, on May 26, instructed them to hand over assets by May 29.
Mr Onyia said the government called for immediate compliance with the directive by handing over all government assets to the permanent secretary, director of administration, or director of personnel management in their ministries, departments and agencies by Wednesday.
He further said those affected included all former chief executive officers, board chairpersons and members, and executive secretaries of parastatals or government-owned companies.
Others are the project coordinators of World Bank–assisted projects and other categories of political appointees, as listed in a memo by the former secretary to the state government.
