Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has disengaged all political appointees of his predecessor. He also announced the appointment of eight principal officers.

On Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, the governor’s press secretary, Ahmed Idris, stated Mr Idris appointed him and appointed a Chief of Staff, a Secretary to the State Government and a personal assistant.

Mr Idris appointed a special adviser (New Media), a senior special assistant (new media), a senior special assistant on protocol, and a special adviser on media and publicity.

The governor explained that all appointments were based on merit and track records of the appointees, adding that the appointments took effect from May 29.
