Ondo House of Assembly gets new Speaker, Deputy

Olamide Oladiji, the lawmaker representing Ondo East Constituency, has emerged as the new Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Peoples Gazette can report.
Mr Oladiji a.k.a ‘Landmark’ was elected unopposed at the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, on Saturday.
His nomination was supported by the members – both returning and ‘freshers’ in the House of Assembly.
The Gazette reports that Mr Oladiji will now take over from Mr Bamidele David Oleyelogun, whose tenure elapsed on Friday.
He’s from the same Central District of the State as his predecessor, Mr Oleyelogun, who represented Ifedore Constituency in the Assembly.
Abayomi Akinruntan, representing Ilaje Constituency I, emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
Mr Akinruntan is the son of a popular Ondo traditional ruler in the Ugbo kingdom, the Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan.
The two lawmakers are both returning members of the Assembly and also belong to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The emergence of the two principal officers of the Assembly followed the dissolution of the 9th Assembly.
