The third batch of 474 pilgrims from Adamawa State has departed the Yola International Airport to Madina in Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

Salihu Gurin, Executive Secretary in charge of the State Muslims Pilgrims Commission, disclosed this to reporters in Yola on Tuesday.

He explained that the pilgrims onboard the Boeing 747 aircraft were all in good health and high spirit, saying they had passed through the rigours of medical examination to determine their suitability.

The secretary had lauded the efforts of Aero airline for being functual and forthcoming in transportation of the pilgrims to the Holy land as the airline had been keeping to time.

Mr Gurin expressed satisfaction at the level of preparations by the management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, considering the speed with which the exercise was being handled.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri was at the airport on Monday to pray for the safe departure and return of the pilgrims.
