Poverty Palliative: 1,000 families received N10 million in Jigawa, says Maigatari LGA

The Maigatari council area in Jigawa says it disbursed N10 million to support 1,000 poor and vulnerable households.
The council spokesman, Daudu Sulaiman, disclosed this in Dutse on Wednesday.
Mr Sulaiman said the council’s chairman, Uzairu Nadabo, announced the disbursement while launching the exercise on Tuesday in Maigatari, indicating that each benefiting household, selected from every nook and cranny, received N10,000.
The chairman said the gesture aimed to reduce the suffering of the people due to the rising cost of living.
The LGA spokesman added that Mr Nadabo assured that the second batch would soon be launched to support the area’s poor and needy.
According to him, the Emir of Gumel, Muhammad Sani, commended the council for the gesture, noting that it would, in addition, reduce hardship experienced by people as a result of the current economic problems.
