Champions League: 105 detained amid investigations into murder of football fan

Authorities in Greece have arrested and detained 105 football fans in connection with a clash ahead of a UEFA Champions League qualifier between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb, resulting in the murder of a supporter.
The incident occurred at the AEK stadium last week Monday, causing the death of an Athens supporter, who died from a stab wound while 10 others suffered several degrees of injuries, according to police.
According to VOA, the victims were attacked by scores of Croatian supporters wielding wooden clubs and metal bats as they attacked bystanders.
On Sunday, officials announced that 102 Croat citizens and three Greeks had been detained and are being questioned by three examining magistrates and two prosecutors in connection to the brawl.
They are being interrogated in batches to determine who should go on trial – 30 people were questioned on Friday, 40 on Saturday and 35 on Sunday – even one suspect, who is hospitalised under guard, gave a deposition to a visiting magistrate.
Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing as authorities will now be able to search cell phone signals at the two sites of the clashes — outside AEK’s stadium and at a metro station — to determine any other involvement.
