Council boss inaugurates five classroom blocks in Ikorodu

Olusesan Daini, chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Friday, inaugurated five classroom blocks at Oreta Community Primary School and a perimeter fence at Lajo Community School .
The classrooms, completed within six weeks, were delivered with furniture, white boards and other learning facilities.
The council chairman also presented books and other educational materials to the school to support learning.
Speaking at the inauguration of the classrooms, Mr Daini said the infrastructure was in line with the mandate of his party, All Progressives Congress(APC), to impact lives.
He added that the delivery of the projects was in fulfillment of his electoral promise to continue to improve education infrastructure in the council area.
The chairman urged the benefitting communities to take ownership of the projects and others around them by maintaining and protecting them.
According to him, proper maintenance will ensure that the projects last long enough to serve their purpose.
“I appreciate the people of this community(Oreta) for giving me the opportunity to serve them.
“All this we are doing is in fulfillment of the promise we made to them when we were looking for this mandate.
“They requested for a good primary school and a Primary Health Centre and today we have made one of the two a reality.
“Very soon, I will build a befitting Primary Health Centre with drugs as promised.
“However, maintaining government infrastructure is the responsibility of the community, you should take full ownership,” he said.
