Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has ordered security operatives to ensure prompt investigation of the abduction and subsequent murder of a veteran journalist, Hamisu Danjibga.

This is contained in a statement in Gusau on Friday by the governor’s media aide, Sulaiman Idris.

The governor expressed deep sadness over the killing of the journalist, adding that his government was fully committed to ensuring prompt investigation.

The governor appealed to residents to provide security operatives with intelligence information that could lead to the swift apprehension of the perpetrators of the ugly act.

“On behalf of my family and Zamfara government, I extend condolence to the immediate family, friends, professional colleagues, and the Nigerian Union of Journalists for the irreplaceable loss.

“We pray to Allah to forgive Danjibga’s shortcomings and grant him paradise,” the governor added.
