Arsenal hand Manchester City second EPL defeat; break eight-year jinx

In a super competitive game on Sunday, the Gunners narrowly defeated Manchester City by a lone goal, ending 12 consecutive defeats to the defending Champions in the English Premier League.
Arsenal extended their perfect start this season with a crucial win at the Emirates Stadium, snatching a first win against City since 2015.
On the contrary, City recorded their second consecutive loss in the EPL, losing their last game to Wolverhampton last week.
With free-flowing passes, attacks and counterattacks, both teams came into the game looking strong and playing well for the three points.
As both sides recorded no goal in the first half and most time in the second half, the game appeared to be heading into a draw until Arsenal struck.
Gabriel Martinelli grabbed a screamer for Mikel Arteta’s side courtesy of Nathan Ake’s deflection in the 86th minute, throwing Emirates fans into huge jubilation.
Sunday’s win pushed Arsenal to second spot on the EPL log behind Tottenham Hotspur by goal difference, while City dropped to third spot on the log.
The Gunners now have 20 points in eight games, while City have 18 points in eight games this season.
