WIkki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Saturday trashed visiting EFCC Football Club of Abuja 5-0 in the ongoing 2023/2024 Nigeria National League (NNL).

The Group C match was played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) Bauchi.

The first half of the match ended goalless despite the pressure from the home team.

Nantaka Bangs opened the scoring for the hosts in the 60th minute of the game.

Despite the visitors’ aggressive play, Owolabi Aremu added a second in the 66th minute of the game for WIkki Tourists FC.

Wikki Tourists captain got the third in the 82nd  minute of the game while Promise  Daramola and Kilinsher Namtaka scored the fourth and fifth goals in added time.

In a post-match interview, EFCC FC Coach Adeyemi Sani said he was disappointed with the scoreline.

ā€œWe had a good performance in the first half of the game, but we failed in the second half.

ā€œOur team will play more games in the upcoming days, so if we go back home, we will strategise for the next match; the league is just starting,ā€ he said.

On his part, WIkki Tourists’ chief coach Azeez Mohammed said the match was wonderful and secured the three points in their first game in the league.

ā€œWe have started well; we will continue to improve as the league progresses because we have more matches ahead.

ā€œWe are going to look at the gray areas to make the team more formidable,ā€ Mohammed said.
