Police warn violence perpetrators in Ondo

The police in Ondo State on Tuesday read the riot act to some political elements in the state, saying they were planning to cause unrest by recruiting youths for their selfish interest in the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed this in a statement to journalists in Akure.
She said that the attention of the police was drawn to reports that some people were planning to cause mayhem in the state.
She added, “Through intelligence reports, some political elements are bent on disrupting the peace of the state through concerted efforts and mobilisation of unsuspecting youths.
“Specific reports revealed that the sponsors seek to cause mayhem to embarrass the state for certain selfish ends.
“The state police command, therefore, warns such elements within the state to retrace their steps or be made to face the wrath of the law. Meanwhile, we assure law-abiding citizens of their safety as they approach the yuletide season.’’
