Housemaid, son, other arrested for killing employer

The police in Ondo State have arrested a housemaid, Oluwaseun, her son Mubarak and one Rilwan over the death of a woman, Iyanuoluwa Adamolekun, who is said to be their employer and a retired teacher.
The suspects were alleged to have taken away the victim’s mobile telephone last week and killed her while she was asleep in her home at Arigidi Akoko in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.
The slain victim’s grandchild reportedly discovered her lifeless body afterwards.
The police were said to have tracked the phone of the deceased, leading to the arrest of one of the suspects, who later assisted the police in arresting other accomplices.
According to a source, Messrs Mubarak and Rilwan confessed that they scaled over the fence to enter the deceased’s room.
“Having gained entry into the house that afternoon, they went straight to the deceased room, where she was lying on her bed after taking her bath. They confessed that they used a wooden box to shatter her head. While the woman was screaming, the second suspect strangulated her,” the source said.
The state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, said, “I can confirm their arrest and will send the details later.”
