Wanted crime suspect Hantar Daba turns self in to Kano police

Hantar Daba, one of the crime suspects declared wanted by the Kano State Police Command on Tuesday, in the company of his mother, has handed himself over to the police for prosecution.
The command’s public relations officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement in Kano on Tuesday.
Mr Kiwaya said the Kano police had placed a bounty of N500,000 to reward whoever would find Mr Daba.
“Hantar Daba surrendered himself in the company of his mother and his topmost former rival and now bosom friend, Abba Burakita of Dorayi, to the police command.
“The good news is that the last person, Hantar Daba, who has been on the run for alleged crimes, finally surrendered himself to the police,” Mr Kiyawa said.
The spokesperson said any person or group with anything against Mr Daba should come forward to the police.
He said Mr Daba, however, requested to be part of the amnesty programme of the state government.
He said the suspect apologised for his past ugly life and is now ready to promote peace and sustainable development in the state.
Meanwhile, Mr Daba is currently under the custody of the Kano State Police Command, undergoing security profiling.
The Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, called on anyone with a complaint against Mr Daba to report to the office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano.
