Lawmakers pass N24 billion supplementary budget, raising Kano’s 2023 budget to N350 billion

The Kano House of Assembly passed a supplementary budget of N24 billion for 2023 in Kano on Tuesday.

The Kano House of Assembly passed a supplementary budget of N24 billion for 2023 in Kano on Tuesday.

The passage raised the state’s budget for the year to N350 billion.

Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf transmitted the bill for the supplementary budget to the assembly on Thursday.

Majority leader Lawan Hussaini (NNPP-Dala) said the supplementary budget would enable the Kano government to pay gratuities and pensions.

Mr Hussaini said part of the budget would also be used to execute projects in the education and health sectors.

He commended other legislators for the speedy passage of the supplementary budget.
