Kano: Dala LGA defends N11 billion budget estimate for 2024

On Wednesday, the Dala Local Government Council appeared before the Kano State House of Assembly to defend its 2024 proposed budget estimate.

The chairman of the Council, Ibrahim Dan-Isle, said this in an interview with journalists shortly after defending his council’s budget before the House Committee on Local Government.

Mr Dan-Isle said that the budget estimates covered the payment of salaries and allowances as well as meaningful projects that would have a direct impact on human development.

He also said the council would focus on health, education and youth empowerment.

Mr Dan-Isle also disclosed that the council would focus on ways to improve revenue generation in the area.

Also, the chairman of Gabasawa LGA, Mahe Garundanga, said that his council proposed N6 billion for the 2024 fiscal year.

Mr Garundanga said that over 50 per cent of the budget was set aside for capital projects and the remaining amount for personnel costs and others.

He assured that more schools would be renovated, adding that hospitals would be equipped and measures would be taken against flooding.

He also gave assurance that his council would work to improve irrigation and human development, which was very significant to the development of society.

The Bebeji LGA Council chairman, Aliyu Ibrahim, said that the council would focus on agriculture and also assist farmers with necessary farming inputs.

Mr Ibrahim said that improving water supply, health care and education received priority in the budget.

According to him, the council will also give priority to women’s empowerment.
