Kwara assembly confirms Nafeesah Buge as commissioner

The Kwara House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Nafeesah Buge from Baruten LGA of Kwara as commissioner.
Mr Buge was asked to take a bow and leave and was later confirmed as commissioner during plenary on the floor of the House on Thursday.
The speaker, Yakubu Salihu, directed the clerk of the parliament, Ahmed Kareem, to forward the confirmation notice to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Also, Musa Atoyebi (APC Odo-Ogun) returned for a second term and was sworn in the House on Thursday.
This followed his triumph at the Appeal Court, where he was declared the winner of this year’s state assembly election against Taiwo Afolabi, initially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Meanwhile, the parliament has passed the State Roads Fund and Administration Bill 2023.
Under the law, the agency would be established to fund the state’s management, planning, development, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and maintenance of class C and D roads.
The bill was passed after considering the Report of the House Committee on Works and Transport on the State Roads Fund and Administration. The committee was chaired by Waheed Gbenga (APC/Eesa Sawo-Igbodun) during Thursday’s plenary.
The bill was read for the third time by the clerk of the house prior to its eventual passage.
The speaker, therefore, directed the clerk of the house to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent.
