NSCDC decorates 450 promoted personnel in Katsina

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated 450 newly promoted personnel in Katsina.
The NSCDC recently elevated 21,385 personnel across the country.
On Sunday, the NSCDC commandant in Katsina, Jamilu Indabawa, decorated the promoted officers.
He commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the commandant general, Ahmed Audi, for their commitment to preventing promotion stagnation in NSCDC.
“Promotion is a privilege, not a right. The minister and the CG had been emphasising their intentions to stump out stagnation of promotion in the corps, and that has been achieved.
“On behalf of the personnel of NSCDC Katsina command, we thanked the Minister, our CG and the top management for this magnanimous gesture,” said Mr Indabawa.
According to him, promotion comes with greater expectations and responsibilities and tasked the personnel to be committed toward cementing the position of the corps as a critical partner in the country’s security architecture.
He also charged them to be disciplined, dedicated and incorruptible in executing NSCDC’s mandate.
“We must remain resolute and committed to maintaining 24/7 surveillance on critical national assets and infrastructure, among other mandates of the corps.
“I also urge the general public to continue to cooperate with the command by providing timely and credible intelligence on suspicious movements or individuals for prompt response,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, DC Nura Shitu thanked the management of the corps for their commitment to improving staff welfare and progress.
