Chogudo Ahmed, the clerk and head of legislative service of the Kogi House of Assembly, says Governor Yahaya Bello’s investments in security are successful.

“The peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year in Kogi is a result of such a huge investment in security,” the clerk said.

Mr Ahmed made the remarks in a statement.

“I hereby wish to thank God on behalf of our governor and the residents of the state for the existing peace in Kogi. This peace we are enjoying is a recipe for the growth and development of Kogi.

“It’s unfortunate that some states in Nigeria are on a daily basis in the news for criminal tendencies, insurgence, kidnapping and terrorism, but the situation is different in Kogi, where peace and security prevail.

“But for us here in Kogi, peace and security are obvious, undeniable and incomparable, largely due to Bello’s determination and huge investment in the security sector,” he said.

According to the clerk, in such states, residents cannot sleep with their eyes closed, adding that no one prays to reside in a turbulent place.

Mr Ahmed congratulated the governor for superintending upon Kogi’s rancour-free November 11, 2023, governorship election.

He commended the Kogi House of Assembly speaker, Umar Yusuf, on behalf of parliamentary staff for “easing our financial burden during the Yuletide celebration.”

While felicitating with all the parliamentary staff on the peaceful New Year celebration, the clerk thanked them for their cooperation and support in the past years.

The clerk urged them to be more committed, dedicated and hardworking in the new year for better results.
