The accolade that came the way of Farm4Me Farm Equipment Rental Service on April 16, 2021, was not a surprise but a deserved recognition.

Since the agritech company started two years ago, it has set itself apart as a trailblazer in the agribusiness sector.

Winning the award of Africa’s Leading Quality Farm Equipment Sales and Rental Service Provider of the Year 2021 at the 7th African Quality Achievement Award was a fitting reward of recognition for two years of revolutionary work.

The award came barely one month after Farm4Me won another international award, namely West Africa’s Best World-Class Digital Agricultural Investment Platform Brand.

Organisers of the award avowed that Farm4Me stands apart from others in the crucial role it is playing in the development of mechanised agriculture in Nigeria in various ways including through rental and sales of quality equipment to boost agriculture in the country.

Ms. Esther Apaa, Farm4Me’s Customer Relationship Manager, who received the award on behalf of the company avowed that “Farm4Me is motivated by the desire to nurture a new generation of wealthy farmers and a food secured Nigeria, and by extension Africa.”

 On this, stakeholders in the agric sector wouldn’t disagree, because the emergence of Farm4Me has been impactful on the sector. Among other things, the company, by pioneering contract farming in Nigeria, has entrenched a paradigm shift in agricultural practices and thus open a new vista of economic empowerment and food security.  

With the concept of contract farming―an arrangement by which the company undertake to farm, harvest and sell the farm produce on behalf of investing citizens―Farm4Me made it possible for every Nigerian to own a farm. The company presently run over 6000 contract farms in its first two years of existence.

The words spoken by Ms. Apaa on behalf of Farm4Me are golden and can be taken to the bank.  “We are inspired by this award to strive for the full mechanisation of Agriculture in Nigeria. As the agritech company continues on its innovative track, it is expected that more Nigerians will get on the bandwagon of the innovative agricultural revolution coming from the company. And of course, more honours and awards are in the offing.
