The committees of visitation panels to the three Colleges of Education in Ilorin, Oro, and Lafiagi have submitted their reports to the Kwara State Government.

Receiving the reports from the committees in her office on Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mary Arinde, applauded members of the committee for their commitment and sense of professionalism.

She thanked the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for setting up the visitation panels, describing it as timely, adding that it would enhance academic progression in the institutions.

The commissioner maintained that the AbdulRazaq-led administration had invested hugely and offered priority attention to the tertiary education system in the state.

Ms Arinde said that the ministry had no doubt the report would serve as a guiding manual for the state government in the transformation of the colleges.

Having worked at ensuring the success of the assignment, the commissioner added that the assignment was priceless and prayed for an enriched wisdom, increased knowledge and divine strength for the committee members.

Prof. Ibrahim Jawondo, who chaired the visitation panel for the College of Education, Oro, thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve and assist in the educational reformation of the state’s tertiary education system.

Mr Jawondo noted that the assignment had exposed the outstanding competence of personnel placed to drive the objective, goal and policy thrust of the three Colleges of Education in the state.

Presenting a letter of commendation to the commissioner, the visitation panel members commended her exceptional role towards the success of the execution of the important assignment.

The Chairman of the visitation panel to College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi, Prof. Otunola Tejumola, appreciated the governor for the initiative of the committees designed towards the reformation of the state-owned colleges of education.

Mr Tejumola also commended the commissioner for her display of professionalism, right attitude, maturity, high sense of responsibility and the encouragement she offered in the execution of the assignment.

He added that the College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi, has the potential to generate revenue that could further enhance the development and self-sustainability of the institution.

Mr Tejumola, however, called on the state government to pay unique attention to the college, especially in resuscitating the TETfund Project in the colleges.
