The National Population Commission (NPC) has completed the 2023-2024 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in 10 local government areas of Kaduna State.

Adama Othman, state director of the commission, made this known in an interview with journalists on Monday in Kaduna.

According to her, the survey’s objective is to provide up-to-date information on fertility, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, adult and child mortality, domestic violence, breast cancer, tuberculosis, and other health issues.

She said the LGAs covered were Kubau, Zaria, Kauru, Sabon Gari, Kudan, Makarfi, Giwa, Ikara, Soba and Lere.

Ms Othman said the other local governments to be visited are Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi and Chikun.

She stated that a cluster from Giwa LGA was abandoned due to security concerns.

The director said the data was collected from 14 clusters out of the 43 clusters that have been selected.
