Three men nabbed for stealing iron rods

Three men, Olutade Ajinde (37), Mohammed Jamiu (35) and Ibrahim Malik (31), were, on Thursday, arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing of a 10mm iron rod.
The defendants are facing a charge of stealing.
The police prosecutor, ASP Johnson Okunade, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 4 at about 9:00 p.m. at Ekiti cargo airport in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants stole 70 pieces of 10mm iron rod valued at N420,000, the property of the Ekiti government.
The prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the defendants, Sunday Balogun, urged the court to grant them bail, promising they would not jump bail.
Chief Magistrate A.O Adeosun granted the defendants N100,000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 12 for a hearing.
