Ramadan: Yari to distribute 358 trucks of grains

Mr Muhammad assured that 13 out of 14 local government areas of the state would benefit from the gesture.

Sen. Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West) is set to distribute 358 trucks of assorted foodstuff.

The items to be distributed include rice, millet, sugar and maize.

Ibrahim Muhammed, chairman, publicity committee of A A Yari political organisation made the disclosure in a statement made available to journalists in Gusau on Sunday.

He said the foodstuff, which was meant to assist people observe the fast of the holy month of Ramadan would be distributed to all regardless of political leaning.

According to him, arrangement has been perfected under A A Yari political organisation led by Lawal Limana that a total of 17,500 house holds are expected to benefit.

Mr Muhammad assured that 13 out of 14 local government areas of the state would benefit from the gesture.

He explained that more than 98 per cent of the items were successfully transported to various local government areas of the state, “making it easy for the beneficiaries to get their own share in good time.”

The publicity committee chairman identified the beneficiaries of the palliatives to include; needy, orphans, widows and divorcees.

While assuring that distribution would begin on or before the holy month of Ramadan, Mr Muhammad urged people to pray for the former governor, the state, and the country at large.
