Police arrest 58 suspected criminals in Adamawa

The police command in Adamawa State has arrested 58 suspected criminals after a raid in different locations of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris said this when he addressed journalists in Yola on Tuesday.
Mr Morris said that the suspects included 40 young men who were believed to be members of a notorious group ‘Shila boys.’
He said, “Eleven of them were arrested for kidnapping, while seven were arrested for armed robbery. We have since commenced discreet investigations on their cases and we would soon prosecute those found culpable in court of law.’’
He said that a Toyota Prado Jeep with registration No.ABJ344HX and one 18 seat bus with registration No.RSH79FA were recovered from the suspects.
He stated, “Other items are two AK 47 rifles with 25 rounds of live ammunition, N10,690.00 cash, a leather containing charms and rings, one power bank and 2 handsets. I hereby solicit the cooperation and understanding of the general public especially by volunteering useful information to the police.’’
He assured of working in close collaboration with sister security agencies for effective service delivery.
