Rangers coach assures fans of three-point win against Heartland

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu of Rangers International has promised the club’s fans three points against Heartland of Owerri when the two teams meet in the Nigeria Premier Football League Match Day 27.
Mr Ilechukwu made the promise in a press statement made available to journalists through the club’s media officer, Norbert Okolie, on Saturday.
Rangers will be hosted by the team from Arugo city in an Oriental Derby inside the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Sunday by 4:00 p.m.
Ahead of the encounter, Mr Ilechukwu said, “We respect Heartland because of the quality that they bring to the table, especially in a game involving teams from the South-East.
“So, we have our job cut out but we have our game plans for the match. I am positive going into the match.
“There is no room for underrating the Owerri side, as football is what it is and we shall take the encounter with all the seriousness it deserves,” he said.
The club captain, Chukwudi Nwaodu, said that previous encounters between the two clubs were easy but believed that his team would get a good result at the end of the encounter.
“Anytime, any day, encounters between the two teams have never been easy, but I am optimistic that we shall get a good result in Aba.
“This match will be more interesting as we have close to five of our former teammates who started the season with us now appearing for the Owerri side.
“The players will be coming to prove one or two points to show that they are still in the game and to give the Owerri club a charge in their battle of relegation.
“As I said earlier, we shall approach the match with all due respect and get a good result to keep us in the hunt for a good finish to the season,” Mr Nwaodu said.
Rangers International FC occupy second place on the league table with 45 points, while the Naze Millionaires are in a relegation battle with 19 points from 26 matches.
