The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested two suspects for allegedly vandalising electricity cables in Katsina State.

The corps public relations officer, DSC Buhari Hamisu, disclosed this in Katsina on Tuesday.

He said corps operatives apprehended the suspects (names withheld) on March 19 at Kusa junction along Jibia road.

Mr Hamisu said the corps recovered 25 pieces of vandalised aluminium electricity conductor from the suspects.

“Based on credible intelligence, the special anti-vandal unit attached to Sabon Gida Division successfully apprehended two suspects who specialised in vandalising electricity wire and theft,” he said.

According to him, preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects vandalised KEDCO aluminium wire and sold it to their accomplice, now at large.

He said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of the investigation.
