Nasarawa lawmaker inaugurates borehole, plans mini dam for constituency

A member representing Nasarawa Eggon East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Jacob Ajegina, has constructed a borehole in Alizaga ward to tackle water scarcity in the area.
Mr Ajegina, while inaugurating the borehole on Monday in Alizaga, also said that plans were underway to construct a mini dam in the constituency to boost irrigation for enhanced food production.
He said that the water project was to ensure that residents of the area had access to clean and potable water for drinking and other domestic uses.
Mr Ajegina stated, “I am committed to improving the lives of my constituents by addressing critical issues such as access to clean water. The sinking of this borehole in Alizaga Ward is my effort to ensure that every resident has access to safe and reliable drinking water.
“The idea of the mini dam is also a proactive measure aimed at mitigating the effects of drought and ensuring that communities have access to drinking water even during periods of water scarcity. The construction of a mini dam will serve as a vital lifeline for communities grappling with the devastating effects of drought,” he said.
The lawmaker reassured the people of sound and quality representation at the state legislature.
He appealed for the continuous support of his constituents and to Governor Abdullahi Sule for them to succeed in delivering on their campaign promises.
