Governor Mutfwang vows to entrench peace, resettle IDPs in Plateau community

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has vowed that his administration will entrench peace and resettle all internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state.
Mr Mutfwang gave the assurance on Saturday in Miango, Bassa Local Government (LGA), at the official flag-off of the rebuilding of the Rotsu community ravaged by persistent crises.
The governor, represented by his special adviser on technical and strategy, Samari Modibo, said his administration was working with the federal government to tackle security challenges.
He stated that his administration constituted a resettlement task force to ensure the safe return of IDPs to their ancestral homes.
Mr Mutfwang appreciated the security agencies in the state for their efforts towards ensuring peace in the state.
He commended the Miango Youth Development Association for partnering with Jinkai Aid Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, to rebuild the Rotsu Community.
“Our administration does not make noise, but I can assure you that we will support you in achieving this vision for the good of our people,” he said.
The paramount ruler of Irigwe, Ronku Aka, appreciated the youth’s initiative and prayed to God to bless them with more wisdom so they could continue to assist the Irigwe people.
The traditional ruler said they needed enduring peace to go to their farms and other places without fear of being attacked.
Alex Ladan, a former governorship aspirant in Plateau, urged the state government to construct roads to link Rotsu and other communities to curtail attacks.
