Prince Harry officially becomes U.S. resident

In a move that further solidifies his transition from royal duties in the UK, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, formally updated his residency status in the United States.
Prince Harry’s move to California with his wife Meghan Markle and their children has been marked by a significant bureaucratic step. The filing, submitted at Britain’s corporate registrar, Companies House, has officially updated his residency status.
According to the New York Times, the paperwork updating Prince Harry’s business address for Travalyst Limited, a non-profit focused on sustainable travel, shows he’s officially moved from the UK to California.
Harry and Ms Markle departed their British residence, Frogmore Cottage, in 2020 to stay at a villa in Montecito, California, but they were not officially residents.
Prince Harry and Ms Markle are currently residing in Montecito, California. While Prince Harry has expressed the idea of becoming a U.S. citizen in the future, his current residency status and the type of visa or permit he holds remain a topic of interest.
The 39-year-old prince’s move to the US emphasises his increasing separation from Britain since he and Ms Markle opted out of royal responsibilities to explore media opportunities in America and his outspoken criticism of the royal family, particularly his accusations of racism in works such as a Netflix series and his autobiography ‘Spare’, suggests a widening gap, signalling a notable shift in his connection to his native country.
