Scotland’s first minister, Humza Yousaf, resigns
The Scottish First Minister, Humza Yousaf, has reportedly resigned barely a year in office.
The CNN said on Tuesday that Mr Yousaf resigned following an alleged scandal last week in which he tore up a coalition deal with MPs from the Green Party.
According to reports, this comes after a dangerous move that backfired catastrophically when the Greens announced they would vote against him in a confidence motion on climate policy.
Last March, Mr Yousaf took over as head of the Scottish National Party, hoping to extend the party’s dominance in politics north of the border for a third decade and bolster the case for a fresh Scottish independence referendum.
