Red Bull’s Verstappen claims commanding win in Miami sprint showdown

Max Verstappen of Red Bull clinched victory in the Miami sprint race, affirming his dominance in the Formula One circuit.
Starting from pole position, the triple world champion led the pack throughout the 19-lap race at the Miami International Autodrome, finishing ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by 3.371 seconds.
Verstappen’s win not only secured his unbeaten streak in Miami but also widened the gap in the championship standings, putting him ahead of teammate Sergio Perez, who secured third place.
Reflecting on the race, Verstappen acknowledged a less than perfect start but expressed satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting areas for improvement. He hopes to extend his record of consecutive pole positions to six, aiming to emulate the feat achieved by Alain Prost in 1993.
Having previously triumphed in Miami in 2022 and 2023, Verstappen eyes a hat-trick at the Grand Prix. Other notable performances include Daniel Ricciardo’s season-best fourth-place finish and Carlos Sainz securing fifth position for Ferrari.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri salvaged crucial points with a sixth-place finish after teammate Lando Norris crashed out early in the race. Nico Hulkenberg claimed seventh place for Haas, with Yuki Tsunoda securing the final points position.
