Presidential media aide, Olusegun Dada, says Nigerians must stop thinking there is a messiah for Nigeria, adding that no one man can change the country.

“We need to change our mentality on this “messiah” orientation,” Mr Dada said in a tweet on Wednesday.

He dismissed the thought and idea that one man can change Nigeria as a facade that cannot work.
“The thought of “only one man can change the entire country” is a facade and can’t work,” Mr Dada said.

Mr Dada’s statement comes a few weeks before Mr Tinubu marks one year in office while Nigerians lament economic hardships as food prices have tripled compared to when Mr Tinubu assumed office last year.

In the 2023 presidential election, Mr Tinubu projected himself as the best candidate for the job, saying he would replicate the success he had in Lagos during his time as governor at the federal level.
But almost one year into his government, his surrogates, like Mr Dada, are dissuading Nigerians from seeing Mr Tinubu as a messiah or expecting him to change the country for good.

After he assumed office, Mr Tinubu said he was well prepared for the job ahead of time and no one should pity him.
