Woman, 58, arrested in Lagos for theft

A 58-year-old woman, Busayo Komolafe, was on Thursday arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing property valued at N400,000.
The defendant was charged with felony and stealing.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Clément Okuiomose, told the court that Komolafe committed the offences at about 5:22p.m on April 27 at Ikoga, Badagry, Lagos.
Mr Okuiomose said the defendant conspired with others now at large to break into the complainant’s house, Omolara Ogunsola.
He said the defendant stole household property valued at N400,000 belonging to the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015.
The chief magistrate, A.J. Aina, granted Komolafe bail of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Mr Aina adjourned the case until May 27 for mention.
