Police arrest two suspected one chance robbers in Nasarawa

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected one chance robbers operating on the Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja expressway.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, made this known in a statement on Tuesday, signed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Umar Nadada.
Mr Nansel said, “Police operatives attached to Anguwan Lambu Division, Keffi have arrested the duo of Chibuieze Orji ‘M’ 52yrs and Jibrin Mohammed ‘M’ 45yrs, members of an armed robbery gang usually referred to as one chance which operates on Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja expressway.’’
The police stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects usually posed as taxi drivers to pick unsuspecting passengers, drove them away to unknown destinations, and dispossessed them of money and other belongings, abandoned the victims and fled.
“The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime and said they have been operating for over 10yrs and robbed a lot of people. They further stated that they were recently released from Shendam Prison, Plateau State, for similar offence after serving their prison term,” it added.
According to the statement, the police recovered a Toyota Carina II vehicle with registration number Abuja CO 212 ABC, one Axe and Hammer from the suspects.
Stating that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation, the commissioner assured the public that the command wouldn’t relent in its fight against crime in the state and solicited collaboration.
