Lagos: Three men arrested for stealing Volkswagen bus

The police arraigned three men on Tuesday before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged theft of a Volkswagen T4 Bus valued at N1.7 million.
The defendants, Anthony Onwotemi, 51, Okechukwu Udeh, 39 and Oluwafemi Olorunnisola, 45, are charged with conspiracy and stealing, for which they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendants committed the offences with others now at large at about 7.32p.m on April 24 at Mechanic Bus Stop, Iyana Isashi, Lagos.
Mr Adeosun said the defendants stole a Volkswagen bus valued at N1.7 million belonging to the complainant, Adeyemi Oluwanishola.
He said the defendants were caught while trying to sell the bus.
The chief magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendants bail of N300,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
Mr Adekomaiya adjourned the case until June 3 for mention.
